Replacement of first molars with Dental Implant
|
Every smile has a story, and this is the inspiring journey of Mr. Amitbhai Mehta, a 64-year-old gentleman who visited us with difficulty in chewing food.
The Problem
On examination, we found that:
- His left lower molar was missing.
- On the right side, only small root pieces of the molar remained.
Molars are the powerhouse of chewing—especially the first molars, which contribute almost 65% of chewing efficiency. With both molars compromised, Amitbhai was unable to enjoy food comfortably.
His wish was clear: he wanted the best solution to regain his chewing power. And for that, we recommended Dental Implants – the most advanced and reliable way to replace missing teeth.
The Treatment Journey – Step by Step 📸
To make this journey memorable, we documented every step with photographs so patients like you can easily understand how an implant works.
0 Visit – Consultation & Planning
- Preoperative photos taken of missing teeth.
- Full jaw OPG X-ray and CBCT scan done to assess bone height, width, and quality.
- With CBCT guidance, we planned the ideal size and type of implant.
1st Visit – Implant Surgery
- Removed root pieces and placed implants in both missing molar sites.
- Photos captured before, during, and after placement, along with suturing.
- Post-op OPG confirmed implant position.
- Patient received simple post-operative instructions.
2nd Visit – Suture Removal (After 1 Week)
- Amitbhai was delighted—no pain, no swelling, no discomfort after surgery.
- Stitches removed within 5 minutes.
- Photos taken before and after suture removal.
3rd Visit – Gingival Former Placement (After 3 Months)
- After osteointegration (fusion of implant with bone), we reopened the gum.
- Placed gingival former to shape the gums for natural-looking crown support.
- Photos taken before and after placement.
4th Visit – Digital Scanning for Crown (After 3 Weeks)
- Healthy gums ready to receive crown.
- Gingival former removed, scan body attached, and digital intraoral scanning performed.
- Shade matching done for zirconia crown.
- Scan data sent to dental lab for custom fabrication.
5th Visit – Final Crown Placement
- Gingival former removed, abutment attached, and torqued with screw.
- Beautiful Zirconia crowns cemented.
- Screw access holes filled with tooth-colored composite.
- Final photos taken at every stage.
The Result 🌟
At his 15-day follow-up, Amitbhai was overjoyed with the outcome. He could chew comfortably on both sides again and felt his confidence restored. He thanked us for helping him regain not just his chewing efficiency but also his quality of life.
