- The rolled gauze pack should be kept at site of extraction for one hour after extraction. So that the bleeding stops.
- Don’t rinse or spit after extraction for next 24 hours to stop bleeding. Swallow saliva.
- After tooth extraction, avoid eating anything until the anesthesia wears off (about two to two and a half hours). You can take soft or liquid diet after 2 hour of surgery like (dal rice, khichadi, plain ice-cream, banana).
- Avoid hot or hard food for 24 hours.
- Don’t use tobacco product or alcohol after extraction of tooth.
- Do not use a straw to drink liquids for two days. Avoid drinking carbonated cold drinks.
- Take medicine regularly as per instruction of doctor.
- Don’t worry if there is oozing of blood or blood-tinged saliva for first 24 hours, it’s normal. If there is profuse bleeding contact dental clinic.
- If there is any other problem like pain or swelling, contact dental clinic.
